MAINTENANCE WORKER - Public Works Department
The County of Fluvanna, VA is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker to perform grounds-keeping and landscaping services and other duties as assigned.
Primary Duties include: Perform a variety of landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks; mow, seed, plant, prune, trim, spray, and fertilize grass, trees, shrubs, bushes, hedges and flowers; operate, maintain, and repair equipment; perform minor building maintenance and repairs; clean buildings; other services required by Fluvanna County. This is heavy work requiring exertion in excess of 100 pounds occasionally, in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and in excess of 20 pounds of force regularly.
Eligible candidates must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record during employment.
The ideal candidate will have: high school diploma or equivalent; general knowledge of grounds and building maintenance; general knowledge of maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment. Must be willing to work evenings, nights, and weekends and during inclement weather on an on-call basis.
DEPUTY TREASURER I –Treasurer's Office
The County of Fluvanna, VA is seeking a full time Deputy Treasurer I. Duties include: Answering telephones and greeting taxpayers; providing correct, complete, and concise information to taxpayers; explaining procedures; and maintaining confidentiality of taxpayer information. The employee will compose and prepare a variety of correspondence; receive, sort and deliver incoming mail as well as collect outgoing mail. This position will be responsible for handling money in the collection of payments, fees and taxes; completing daily transaction reports and balancing receipts; keying in payments. Banking/accounting skills preferred.
Starting Salary from $12.87 per hour ($26,770 annually) plus benefits, DOQ.

RECREATION AIDE, Part Time --Parks & Recreation
The County of Fluvanna, VA is seeking a part time Recreation Aide that will assist in overseeing recreational activities and programs. Duties include: Assisting in any number of activities such as youth sports, special event programs, crafts, sports leagues, etc. in accordance to the mission, purpose and policies of the County’s Parks and Recreation Department. Responsibilities also involve helping facilitate functions of community development, programs, relationship building, developing others, project management, quality results, and retention with the focus on Values, Inclusion, Relationships and Communication; as well as other services required by Fluvanna County. Primary Focus: Assists program directors in carrying out activity goals and objectives. Manage assigned areas and programs while maintaining communication with all involved. Must be able to work in large and small group settings. Maintains attendance and other records and prepares reports as needed. Keeps recreation facilities and grounds clean and safe for all participants.
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will bring experience and knowledge in managing youth and adult activities and programs or equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must be able to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends. The position requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and must have a current VA driver’s license and be able to drive between off site locations if needed. CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Driving and Criminal History Background check required. Hiring Range: $10.00 to $11.50 per hour, DOQ.
