The Fluvanna Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office seeks a full-time paralegal/legal assistant.   The ideal candidate must possess a professional demeanor, demonstrate excellent communication skills and attention to detail and be able to work with minimal supervision.   Prior experience in a prosecutor’s office or criminal law firm is required.

Duties will include file preparation and organization, legal research and writing, VCIN operation, preparation of court documents including but not limited to jury instructions, indictments, motions, orders and other legal correspondence. Position will also provide back-up for administrative assistant.  Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.  Criminal background check will be required.  Salary range beginning at $18.00 per hour (annually $37,440) plus benefits. ASSISTANT COMMONWEALTH’S ATTORNEY - Commonwealth's Attorney's Office

The Fluvanna Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office seeks a full-time Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney. Duties will include, among others:   preparing and prosecuting all cases in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court; preparing and prosecuting cases in General District and Circuit Courts, when requested; conferring with law enforcement, the victim/witness director, victims and witnesses to prepare cases; performing legal research and writing; assisting in the training of law enforcement officers and school officials, and participating in and/or facilitating meetings of the SART and MDT.

CHILDREN’S SERVICE ACT COORDINATOR - #1351 - CSA

The County of Fluvanna, VA is seeking a full-time Children’s Services Act (CSA) coordinator. Duties include:  Primary program administrative support for CSA functions in the County. The Coordinator performs responsible, professional, and administrative work coordinating the CSA program, preparing and maintaining files and records, reviewing and processing bills for payment of services, and handling sensitive, confidential, possibly contentious and controversial information.  Serves as a liaison between CSA and various other local and state agencies. Performs work under the general supervision of the Deputy County Administrator with latitude for independent judgement.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in public administration or human services, as well as a minimum of five years’ experience in increasingly responsible administrative work. DEPUTY CLERK I -#1811 - Clerk of the Circuit Court

The County of Fluvanna, VA is accepting applications for the position of Deputy Clerk I to perform intermediate skilled clerical work in the Circuit Court Clerk’s office and specialized duties relating to the operations of the Clerk’s office. The general duties include, but are not limited to, receiving calls and answering questions concerning Circuit Court matters, assisting the public, attorneys and other public agencies in completing forms, filings of licenses and permits, court rules and providing records room assistance.
