FLUVANNA COUNTY SUMMER CAMP COUNSELORS--Parks and Recreation
Fluvanna County Parks and Recreation has openings for summer camp counselors. Camps operate from June 1st through July 31st. The position is responsible for implementing the summer camp program by actively engaging with participants on a daily basis.
Schedule will vary between 20 and 39 hours/week. Salary $10.00/hour for new hires, $10.50/hour for returning summer counselors. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Prior camp counseling experience preferred. Must be able to work outdoors for up to 10 hours at a time. Driving and Criminal History Background check required.
Must be available to attend a staff orientation during the week of May 25th - 29th.

The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a full-time Emergency Communications Officer. Must have a high school diploma or equivalency and undergo a criminal background investigation. The successful candidate must be able to work all shifts, work in a stressful environment, work with the public in a courteous manner and complete all necessary trainings. Previous experience preferred, but not required.

RECREATION AIDE, Part Time --Parks & Recreation
The County of Fluvanna, VA is seeking a part time Recreation Aide that will assist in overseeing recreational activities and programs. Duties include: Assisting in any number of activities such as youth sports, special event programs, crafts, sports leagues, etc. in accordance to the mission, purpose and policies of the County’s Parks and Recreation Department. Responsibilities also involve helping facilitate functions of community development, programs, relationship building, developing others, project management, quality results, and retention with the focus on Values, Inclusion, Relationships and Communication; as well as other services required by Fluvanna County. Primary Focus: Assists program directors in carrying out activity goals and objectives. Manage assigned areas and programs while maintaining communication with all involved. Must be able to work in large and small group settings. Maintains attendance and other records and prepares reports as needed. Keeps recreation facilities and grounds clean and safe for all participants.
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will bring experience and knowledge in managing youth and adult activities and programs or equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must be able to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends. The position requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and must have a current VA driver’s license and be able to drive between off site locations if needed. CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Driving and Criminal History Background check required. Hiring Range: $10.00 to $11.50 per hour, DOQ.
