DEPUTY SHERIFF - 6511 - Sheriff's Office
The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a Deputy Sheriff to initially work in the Courts system. Must be willing to be trained and work in both Courts and Patrol. Shift work is required.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalency, be 21 years of age, complete a thorough background investigation and successfully complete a physical examination. Must be become DCJS trained and certified within one (1) year.
Candidates must possess a current valid operator’s license. DCJS certified individuals are encouraged to apply with a $3,000 sign on bonus. Salary is negotiable dependent upon experience, education and certifications. Starting annual salary for non-certified law enforcement officer is $37,440 and starting for certified law enforcement officer is $39,312.

This position will provide direction, management, and oversight to the Building and Grounds Maintenance and Custodial Service areas, as well as small tenant improvement and remodel projects. The successful candidate will also assist the Department Director in general oversight of the entire Department by assisting with personnel issues, budgeting, long range planning, development of strategic initiatives, and representation on various boards and committees. The County of Fluvanna, VA is seeking a full-time Deputy Treasurer III. Duties include: Performs difficult skilled level clerical work assisting with the operation of the Treasurer’s Office. Work is performed under regular supervision of the Treasurer. The Deputy Treasurer III performs responsible, professional, and administrative work pertaining to the services provided by the Treasurer’s Office, preparing and maintaining files and records, reviewing and dispersing fees, preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly and annual reports, and handling sensitive, confidential information. Works closely with the County’s Finance department and various other local and state agencies. Performs work under regular supervision of the Treasurer.
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have any combination of education and experience equivalent to 5 years relevant experience in a Treasurer’s Office or relate field.
