The Fluvanna County Planning & Community Development Department hosted its first developer’s roundtable discussion on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. The purpose of the roundtable discussions is to begin a continuing dialog with the area’s development community on a variety of issues. The roundtable discussions are not intended to solve problems immediately, but to come together in a more informal setting to discuss topics of mutual interest. 

The primary topic of this first meeting was the state’s proposed stormwater regulations. A presentation was given by the Thomas Jefferson Soil & Water Conservation District, and then comments and questions were fielded. A Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) representative was also present to directly answer questions regarding the proposed regulations. This developer’s roundtable was co-hosted by the Rivanna River Basin Commission (RRBC) in an effort to better facilitate discussion and input on the proposed stormwater regulations. The comments from the roundtable will be forwarded to both the RRBC and DCR for their consideration.

Future roundtable discussions will be hosted by the County on a periodic basis regarding a variety of planning and development issues.
