A 6 piece blues rock band playing music from Stevie Ray Vaughn to Aretha Franklin. Jose Rubio, guitar and vocals and Lee Gammon, Bass guitar both studied music at VCU in Richmond. Glenn Jones, Drums, studied music at VSU in Petersburg Virginia. Brian Mhlongo comes to us from South Africa, a self-taught keyboardist and vocalist who toured with the Choir of The Lion King musical. Apollonia Morris, our powerhouse lead vocalist sings the likes of Etta to Janis to Tina. Newly added is Pix Ensign, a master Blues harp player from Ohio.

Sift through the funk, to rockabilly to dance party grooves as you find your way to musical nirvana and discovering, what is JBB?!

Melding roots, country and rock into their own style of rambling swing rock & roll. Heartfelt storytelling is at the core of The Atkinsons, and it is complemented with three-part harmonies layered over mandolin, fiddle, drums, bass and electric guitars. From country, mountain, bluegrass, to straight-up rock & roll music, and the sound ends up being quite a musical stew.

Visitors are invited to tour the Farm Heritage Museum and the Pleasant Grove Plantation house located at 271 Pleasant Grove Drive, Palmyra, Virginia 22963

HOURS: Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and on Saturday – Sunday from 9:00am to 6:00pm.

PLEASANT GROVE PARK WILL BE CLOSED THURSDAY MARCH 14, 2024 FOR  THE CONTROLLED BURN WILL REOPEN AT 5PM  

Pleasant Grove Park's  will be closed Thursday, March 14, 2024 in order to allow the Virginia Department of Forestry to conduct a controlled burn.
