Thomas Jefferson Health District Environmental Health Services Closed on June 17 and June 18

(Charlottesville, Va.) – Thomas Jefferson Health District (TJHD) Environmental Health offices and services, including vital records, will be closed on Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18, 2019, for staff training. Services will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.
The Virginia Department of Health (VDH), including TJHD, will be migrating to a new data system state-wide on June 20, 2019. For about 7 to 10 days, some Environmental Health services that rely on the use of our database will be interrupted.
These services include, but are not limited to:

  • the printing of approval letters and permits,
  • accepting and processing of onsite sewage system operation and maintenance reports,
  • responding to requests for data abstraction or publishing of reports, and/or
  • other general inquiries.

While VDH will work to minimize any interruption in services during and after this data transition period, we thank you in advance for your understanding and patience. At all times VDH will comply with the Freedom of Information Act as it pertains to environmental health records.
