Fluvanna County Government continues to monitor Hurricane Florence; currently, we are forecasted to receive strong winds and significant amounts of rainfall. If you haven’t already, please begin preparing for this major storm.  Every household should have enough food, water, & needed supplies to last for 72 hours.  Our challenges ahead are downed trees, power outages, and flooding.  If you do not have a generator, have flashlights and a battery powered radio so you can continue to receive updates.

Go to Virginia Department of Emergency Management for ideas on preparing for hurricane Florence.

Those with special medical needs should contact their medical supplier and have extra oxygen, supplies, etc., on hand to last throughout the storm.  Medications should be refilled now before the storm arrives.

Have enough food & water for pets and provide a warm, dry place where they can get out of the storm.

Encourage friends, neighbors, and family to go to Fluvanna County Homepage for updates and to sign up for further emergency notifications by clicking on the notification alerts button on the bottom left of the homepage.
