#4114- Athletics and Special Events Coordinator

The County of Fluvanna, VA is seeking a Full-Time  Athletics and Special Events Coordinator 

This is a Full-time position that provides supervision and management of youth and adult athletic services program areas in accordance with the mission, vision, and policies of the Fluvanna County Parks and Recreation Department. Responsibilities include management of our department’s athletic programs; coordination of special events; coordination of sports summer camps; supervision of part-time staff and volunteers; and other tasks assigned by the Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Oversees and coordinates the Department’s youth and adult basketball leagues.
• Coordinates specialty youth and adult classes/programs not limited to open gym, yoga, karate, mother’s group, little tykes/mighty mites basketball, kiddie T-ball, wrestling, football, field scheduling, pickle ball, etc.
• Coordinates special events including County Fair, May Carnival, Old Dominion train rides, Earth Day, Photography Contest, Arts/Movies in the Park, etc.
• Plans and coordinates summer sports camp activities.
• Assists customers with registration needs, loading/unloading equipment rentals, and set-up/clean-up for facility rentals.
• Supervises, schedules, and assigns duties to part-time staff during programs, with Director’s approval.
• Collects and compiles information for Parks and Recreation’s Program Guide.
• Conducts regular evaluations with program participants, volunteers, and staff to ensure maximum participant satisfaction.
• Develops and implements strategic and tactical business plans for all programs administered.
• Creates and maintains program records and reports.
• Assists with design and execution of marketing and promotional efforts for programs administered.
• Develops programs for specific needs and interest groups.
• Serves as an active, contributing member of the Department’s leadership team and other Boards and committees as required.
• Participates in all Department-sponsored special events.

Performs related tasks as required. 

*New Pay band 12

*New Expected hiring range  $17.62 to $20.26 hourly rate -DOQ- Excellent benefits (paid health, dental, and vision, flex spending, life, disability, retirement).
