Benefit Programs Specialist I/II-Department of Social Services

Benefit Programs Specialist I/II:  Fluvanna County Department of Social Services, a high-performing team of human services professionals, is currently recruiting for a Benefit Programs Specialist, who is seeking to make a positive difference in the lives of adults, families and children.

This position may be filled as a Benefit Programs Specialist I or a Benefit Programs Specialist II, depending on the candidate's prior training and experience.  Hybrid telework options may be available for this position.  

Job duties include but are not limited to interviewing applicants and determining eligibility for benefits such as SNAP, Medicaid, and other programs.  Candidate must be reliable and possess excellent customer service, communication, writing, organizational, analytical and technical skills with the ability to apply complex policy to determine qualifications for financial assistance.  High School diploma or equivalency required. 

The salary range is $33,387 - $45,000 (commensurate with experience).
