Internal Posting: Financial Services Technician- #1321

Fluvanna County, Virginia, is seeking a full-time Financial Services Technician.  Under the regular supervision of the Deputy County Administrator / Director of Finance, the Financial Services Technician is responsible for vendor set-up/maintenance, reviewing all invoices, preparing and processing accounts payable, preparing year-end 1099 tax reporting and other financial recordkeeping processes of the County.  The ideal candidate will need to have excellent customer service skills, be able to respond to questions regarding inquiries, research and resolve problems, prepare reports, reconciliations, as well as cross train for other financial functions.

To succeed in this role, the candidate will have education and experience equivalent to post high-school courses of study in accounting, bookkeeping, business finance, or other related field and a minimum of 1 year of experience in processing accounts payable. Preferred qualifications include a degree in Accounting or Business, prior experience in local government, and demonstrated knowledge of accounts payable processes and regulations. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
