Recreational Programs and Special Events Coordinator - 4113

The County of Fluvanna, VA is seeking a full-time Recreational Programs and Special Events Coordinator to lead and implement youth, teen and family activities and programs.

Primary Duties include:  Administer recreational activities and programs in alignment with approved budgets; Coordinate and schedule part-time instructors for programs and classes; Responsible for development and distribution of the seasonal program guide; Responsible for overseeing summer and seasonal youth camps; Responsible for planning and coordination of County events, festivals, and fairs; This position requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.

Eligible candidates must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license, be able to drive between off-site locations, and maintain a satisfactory driving record during employment. Selected candidate must pass a criminal background check.

The ideal candidate will have: several years of progressively responsible experience in recreation program and events planning and implementation; a Bachelor’s degree in recreation or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Work schedule varies with programs and events. Applicant must be willing to work some evenings and week- ends. Salary Grade 11, starting at $15.60 -$17.94 per hour (annual $32,455-$37,323) plus benefits, DOQ.
