Small Business & Tourism Specialist

Fluvanna County, Virginia, is seeking a full-time Small Business and Tourism Specialist  

The incumbent performs work of considerable difficulty in planning, organizing and administrating a human resource program for a large number of employees engaged in a variety of occupations, does related work as required.  The HR Manager works under the general supervision and direction of the County Administrator.  The HR Manager provides overall strategic HR leadership to the County and oversees the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs and services, including recruitment, selection, retention, legal compliance, employee benefits, employee relations, employment practices and procedures, employee communications and employee events. 

To succeed in this role, the candidate will have any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resource, organizational development, business administration or related field and extensive experience in human resource administration.  The ideal successful candidate will also hold a current certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) or similar organization, or have the ability to obtain such certification within one year of employment.

Starting salary range $53,551 to $61,584 annually plus benefits, DOQ. Position open until filled.
