The Historic Courthouse recently experienced the failure of a major structural component of its roof. The upper half of one of the seven "jackposts" (vertical beams) which support the building's rafters & roof broke apart, causing damage to other structural beans, minor (for now) sagging of the roof and a large roof leak.
