Candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent customer service.  Must possess the following skills; organizational, time management, computer, communication, mathematical, and writing.  Duties include but are not limited to: handling of confidential information, data entry, record management, fiscal monitoring, and receptionist duties.  High School diploma or equivalency required.  Salary $25,904 minimum (salary commensurate with experience).

RT. 623 BRIDGE TO CLOSE NOV. 13 FOR REPLACEMENT

Use alternate routes during three-month closure

CULPEPER — Starting Nov. 13, the Virginia Department of Transportation will close the Route 623 (Perkins Road) bridge over Venable Creek in Fluvanna County for replacement of its superstructure.

The bridge, which was built in 1951 and is located 0.4 mile east of Route 659 (Kent Store Way), will be closed for three months while crews replace the existing timber deck and steel beams with a concrete slab. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.

Fluvanna History

The area which is now Fluvanna County was once part of Henrico County, one of the original shires of the Virginia Colony. Henrico was divided in 1727 and the Fluvanna County area became a part of Goochland County. In 1744 Goochland was divided and the area presently known as Fluvanna became a part of Albemarle County. Finally, in 1777, Albemarle County was divided and Fluvanna County established. The County was named for the Fluvanna River, the name given to James River west of Columbia. Fluvanna means "Annie's River" in honor of Queen Anne of England. 

Fluvanna County Winter Camp Counselor

Fluvanna County Parks & Recreation has openings for winter camp counselors. Camps operate December 20, 21, 27, 28, 29 and January 2, 3.  The position is responsible for implementing the winter camp program by actively engaging with participants on a daily basis.

Schedule will vary between 8 - 10 hours/day.  Salary starting at $10.75/hr. Candidates must be at least 18 years of ages with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Prior camp counseling experience preferred. Applicant must be able to work outdoors for up to 10 hours at a time.

The Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors (hereinafter the “County”) is requesting sealed proposals from qualified Offerors to provide a comprehensive web-based Geographic Information Services (“GIS”) system (the “System”) Update/Upgrade and Hosting services related thereto for the both the County’s planning GIS system and the County’s E-911 system (collectively the “Services”).  The Services shall include that the new GIS System shall be hosted and maintained by the Offeror.
