Claiming a Notary Public Commission

When the notary commission has been issued, the Secretary of the Commonwealth will send a notice to the applicant.  Applicants must subsequently appear in person in the Clerk's Office to receive their commission.  No appointment is necessary; however, it is suggested that you contact the Clerk's Office to confirm your commission is ready for pickup.  When appearing to claim your commission, you MUST provide the approval letter received from the the Secretary of the Commonwealth, a photo I.D., and a $10 Clerk's fee.

  • To apply to become a notary public, visit the web site of the Secretary of the Commonwealth to access the Notary Application Wizard.
  • In order to pick up the finalized notary commission at the Fluvanna Circuit Court Clerk's Office, applicants must indicate this preference on the application.
  • Applications should be mailed to the Secretary of the Commonwealth with a check or money order in the amount of $45 payable to the Treasurer of Virginia.

Civil War Park

The center piece of this park is a Civil War monument that was dedicated by local Civil war veterans.  It contains picnic tables for a peaceful picnic.

Advisory Board

Recreation Advisory Board

Member shall advise the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Board of Supervisors on the planning and development of a comprehensive system of parks and recreation services for the benefit of the citizens of Fluvanna County.  Members also serve as a liaison between the Parks and Recreation Director, the Board of Supervisors, and the citizens of the County.
