Each year, millions of Americans become victims of crime.   National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) is April 6 – 12, 2025.   This year’s theme of KINSHIP is a call to action to recognize that shared humanity should be at the center of supporting all survivors and victims of crime. KINSHIP is a state of being with survivors that drives vital connections to services, rights, and healing.   KINSHIP is where victim advocacy begins.

Fluvanna County begins Zion Crossroads Water-Sewer System Construction

ZION CROSSROADS, VA -- Construction of Fluvanna County’s highly anticipated Zion Crossroads Water and Sewer System project officially began on March 8th as the County issued formal notices to proceed to its three contractors.

2019 Quad-County Business Summit will include the 'Quad Tank'

Fluvanna County, VA –  Fluvanna County Economic Development Office, in collaboration with the Fluvanna Chamber of Commerce, Central Virginia Small Business Development Center and peer organizations in Greene County, Louisa County and Orange County has just announced the inclusion of a pitch competition titled, The Quad Tank, to be held at this year’s Summit.  The Quad Tank will offer entrepreneurs from the four localities a funding opportunity to take their business ideas to the next level.

PLAIN DEALING ROAD CLOSED MARCH 13 FOR DEBRIS REMOVAL
The Virginia Department of Transportation will close Route 630 (Plain Dealing Road) at the bridge over Byrd Creek in Fluvanna County March 13 for debris removal.
VDOT crews will use heavy equipment to remove debris that has washed against the bridge to reduce the risk of flooding during future storms.

Eric Dahl named new County Administrator

Mr. Eric M. Dahl became the Fluvanna County Administrator on July 6, 2019.

Conservation District offers huge discounts on septic repairs and replacements!

If you live in southwestern Fluvanna County, the Thomas Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District (TJWSDC) is now offering financial incentives to homeowners to maintain, fix, upgrade or replace their septic systems.
The benefits of doing so are numerous and hard to pass up.

Union Mills Road Open to Traffic

Update from VDOT on closure of Union Mills Road to replace culvert washout caused by the torrential rains in September:

  • VDOT Crews have finished the emergency culvert replacement project on Route 616 (Union Mills Road) in Fluvanna County. The road is open to traffic.

Sep 5, 2018 - Deputies Investigate Vehicle Crash James Madison Highway

Palmyra, Va. --The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information related to a vehicle crash with injuries.

WHEN: Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at approximately 7:25 a.m.

This morning Deputies responded to the scene of a vehicle crash on Route 15, James Madison Hwy. On scene, an injured individual was discovered on the roadway and an unoccupied vehicle a few hundred feet away.

Debris Removal from Rivanna River at Crofton Boat Ramp

CULPEPER — A contractor with the Virginia Department of Transportation has begun mobilizing equipment to remove the large debris pile near the Route 600 (South Boston Road) bridge over the Rivanna River in Fluvanna County.

Scam Alert - Sheriff’s Office

The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office wants to alert the public to a possible scam where an unknown individual is claiming to be “Deputy Davis” of the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office. They advise to call 434-253-8927. If you call the number there a answering machine claiming to be the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office. THIS IS A FRAUD! We do not have a Deputy Davis and that is not the number to the sheriffs office. If you receive any call from someone claiming to be Deputy Davis do NOT provide any personal information.
