Planning Commission

This commission holds public hearings on all Rezoning requests and Special Use Permit requests and makes recommendations for their approval or denial to the Board of Supervisors. This commission also makes recommendations on land use policy issues through the Comprehensive Plan, and Subdivision and Zoning Ordinances. This commission also handles administrative matters such as the approval of preliminary site and subdivision plans.

Length of Term: 4 years - vacancies filled for unexpired terms only.

By resolution adopted by the Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors on April 19th 1995, the Board of Supervisors requires all Fluvanna County Planning Commission members to attend at least one or more of the training courses provided by the Virginia Cooperative Extension, the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, the Virginia Citizens Planning Association, or Virginia Tech's Public Service Program within two years of their appointment.
