Green Dogs Unleashed seeks to rescue, train, place and register unwanted animals to participate in therapy work, with an emphasis on special needs animals; to adopt out, place, or transfer to rescue, animals deemed not suitable for our program; and to to promote the supportive benefits of the human animal bond.

The garden is conveniently located at Pleasant Grove Park and was developed jointly by the Virginia Cooperative Extension, Fluvanna Master Gardeners and FCPR. The garden promotes productive gardening practices and conserving resources to enhance the surrounding environment. It is also provides gardening opportunities for the physical and social benefit of the people and neighborhoods of Fluvanna County.

85. Experience a re-awakening at the Rev. John Jasper historical marker.

John Jasper, one of Fluvanna's most famous African American residents, was born into slavery in 1812 and spent his childhood in the county. After spending time in Louisiana and Richmond, VA, he had a religious awakening in 1839 whilst in the Virginian capital. Self-taught, he became a prominent Baptist minister and travelled the entire state preaching while still enslaved. Freed at the end of the Civil War, he founded the Sixth Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Richmond, which quickly became one of the largest black congregations in the city. He died in Richmond in 1901.
